Lama secures second gold for Nepal

Karateka Sunil Lama won the gold medal for Nepal. Her gold has taken Nepal's gold tally to two. Lama confirmed the gold medal after beating Indian opponent 2-1.

Sunil was lucky to have earned a bye into the semifinals when the tie sheet was drawn yesterday, and he made sure he made full use it by defeating Mohammed Samim in the semifinals.

After the win, Sunil said the competition in South Asian martial arts had been difficult in recent years, and Nepal needed to improve if they want to enjoy the powerhouse status they enjoyed in the yesteryears.
