Kathmandu, January 18, NS report - Nepal bagged bronze medal at the First International Junior Soft Tennis Championship,which was held in Japan. According to Nepal Soft Tennis Association (NSTA) Nepal won silver medals at the men's singles and women's doubles categories.
Deepak Pariyar and the duo of Rabina Basnet and Kreepa reached as far as semi-final to clinch the medals for Nepal. Pariyar won the bronze in men's U-15 category while Basnet and Sharma progressed to the last four of the women's U-18. Meanwhile, secretary of NSTA and inter-national umpire Bikash Pandey had officiated in the semi-final and final of women's U-18 and U-21 categories. Likewise, NSTA also stated that along with Pandey Ved Krishna Shrestha also received international official umpire's certificate. Players from 22 countries had participated in the championship.
