NCell Cup, Day 4: Hat-trick Hero Jumanu Sees Off APF, BUC Defeat SYC
5th December, 4th day of the ongoing NCell Cup 2070, Jumanu struck gold for Police Club to see APF went crashing out of the group stage. Three goals coming in at 27th, 65th and 71st minute of the game, made sure that APF had no chance in the game. Similarly in another match today; Boys Union beat Saraswati Youth Club 2 - 1. Aseem Jung Karki's super strike from 35 yards opened the scoring for BUC, with other goal for team coming from Rakesh Lama. Krishna Gopal Shrestha had earlier equalised for SYC....

Laxman lauds Nepal's success

Laxman, who is here on a two day visit, also congratulated the national team for qualifying for the ICC World Twenty20 in Bangladesh. "I would like to congratulate you for qualifying for the World Cup. I was following the Qualifier and the response you got, especially the captain (Paras Khadka) reminded me of the 1983 Indian team," said Laxman at a prize distribution ceremony of a match between Nepali national team and Air India.

The government has decided to provide Rs 1 million each to 15 players of the Nepali cricket team that qualified for the ICC World T20. A cabinet meeting on Monday took the decision and congratulated the players and the team for making the country proud. Similarly, the government has decided to award Rs 500,000 to coach Pubudu Dassanayake and Rs 350,000 to four other officials of the team.

Nepal still can't find a way through Afghans

In what turned out to be a rain spoiled match, Nepal still could not find a way through the Afghanistan team. After the game being reduced to just 7 overs a side due to rain earlier in Sarjah Nepal lost the toss and were called to bat in first. Batting first Nepal managed to make a what seemed like good total of 73/3 runs in the 7 allocated overs.
Nepal face another setback; loose to Netherlands

Nepal today lost to Netherlands credits to lackluster filled batting from the batsmen. With second loss in 5 games, Nepal are now third in their group, with Netherlands leading in the front and Afghanistan sitting at second. Nepal now have to face Afghanistan and Bermuda in the tournament.

Coming in to bat second, following a good 140 run chase against a former WC participant nation, the batsmen looked at ease. Veshwakar made a good 38 before being run out, with G. Malla and S. Pun both making 10 runs, Paras Khadka made 26 runs. But it was a fearsome batting display from Man of the Match Binod Bhandari who made 26 balls 51 run to make the run chase look easy than it would have otherwise been.
